Marriage's Organic Flour
Marriage’s have produced organic certified flour varieties since 1986, and Sampson David Marriage (fourth generation family member) was interested in organic production long before it became so high profile. George Marriage played a key role in the early development of the Organic Food Federation and served as Chairman for several years. Marriage’s have been active in organic industry research projects, across the agricultural, milling and baking industries.

Why choose organic food?*
Organic food has a number of benefits: for the environment, animal welfare, nature and sustainability.
Organic farming benefits the environment as it uses fewer pesticides. Organic farming protects and encourages wildlife, such as birds, bees and butterflies. Organic farmers work with nature to both feed the soil and control pests, rather than using chemicals. Methods such as crop rotation and clover are used to enhance soil fertility. Organic farmers predominantly use natural farming methods and encourage natural predators (so as to avoid the need for nearly all pesticides). With organic farming methods, less greenhouse gases are released. Therefore you can reduce your carbon footprint by selecting food that is local, seasonal and organic.
Organic animal welfare standards are also high. Organically reared animals must be given a ‘free range’ life, given plenty of space and fresh air.
