White Flour - Uses, Nutritrional Information and Recipes

White flour is milled using a modern steel roller mill, with most of the wheat germ and bran removed during the milling process. White flour is produced using about 75% of the wheat grain, resulting in flour that is more refined than brown or wholemeal, white in colour and lighter in texture.

White flour as a category includes Plain, Self Raising and Strong flours. White flour is extremely versatile and can be used for white breads, cakes, pastry, pancakes and biscuits. The calcium within white flour can be beneficial for growing children.

Marriages produce seven white flours:

Finest Plain flour

A flour with a light texture and bright colour; a good all rounder, perfect for making pastry, batters, crumbles and biscuits and ideal as a thickener in sauces and soups
